Cats remember their friends’ names

Your cat may not come when she’s referred to as, but that isn’t going to necessarily mean she’s not listening. (Sorry, she’s just ignoring you.)

The latest scientific studies counsel that domestic cats might share some of the same language recognition techniques normally found in puppies. In a 2019 article in the journal Scientific Reviews, a staff of Japanese researchers described they had shown that cats could understand their personal names in a collection of spoken words and phrases. Now, new exploration from some of the exact scientists implies that this familiarity may well also prolong to a property cat’s feline mates.
