Deputies kill ‘extremely aggressive’ dog after it attacked woman | News, Sports, Jobs

BEVERLY — Deputies killed an “extemely aggressive” pitbull this week after it was learned attacking its female operator and leaving her with “severe injuries,” officials introduced Friday.

In accordance to a press release from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Workplace, on Feb. 19, Deputies A.B. Beverly and B.M. Roy and Trooper Spessert responded to a contact on Seneca Path in Beverly about threats remaining designed at the tackle. Upon arrival, men and women explained to the officer that a lady was within a mobile home becoming bitten by a canine. Officers could hear the lady screaming and the pet barking.

Moving into the residence, officers observed a woman “laying on her again bleeding profusely from her confront and other locations when staying attacked by a brown pitbull AKA ‘Chopper’ that was standing on prime of her,” the release states.

“A can of OC spray was deployed to the dog’s facial area and a taser 7 arced, which created an audible seem,” the release carries on. “These considerably less than deadly actions right away had (the) sought after outcomes, triggering the dog to retreat further more into the residing area place, ending the assault, and allowing for deputies to take out the chunk target from the home.”

The chunk victim, who was also an owner of the dog and life at the cell residence, “received numerous intense injuries from the attack and was transported to Davis Healthcare Middle by Randolph County EMS to get started receiving cure for her injuries,” according to the release.

The upcoming morning, Randolph County Humane Officer Charlie Ramsey came to the cellular house alongside with Deputies T.J. Knotts and L.R. Elbon and Trooper E. Malcomb. The officers “encountered the pet dog and its other proprietor alongside with the creek at the rear of the home,” the launch states. “The doggy was not on a leash at this time.”

Officers resolved to seize and quarantine the canine, and the owner agreed to “walk the dog into a kennel” so it could then be put into Ramsey’s auto, according to the release. Right after various unsuccessful attempts, “the final decision was made to use a capture pole to immediately and humanely restrain and guide the animal into the kennel.”

When Ramsey connected the catch pole to the pet “it turned particularly intense,” the release states. Two officers held the pole but the pet was “powerful ample to bend the catch pole and commenced to slip out of the unit.”

“These gatherings took place in very shut proximity to populated places these types of as the Dollar Normal, Rapid Break fuel station, and Mobile Dwelling Park located alongside Seneca Path in Beverly,” the launch reads.
