Siberian Cat’s Inexplicable ‘Rage’ After Bath Has Internet in Stitches

A cat has gone viral for his mania following a warm bath.

Cats are renowned for their aversion to water, but one Siberian cat called Nimbus appeared calmer inside a bathtub than out of it.

“Nimbus at the car wash,” his owner wrote in the text overlay of an Instagram reel showing the soaked cat. The video then showed Nimbus darting around his home and growling.

In the caption of the video, which has received more than 367,00 views and 364,729 likes, the poster wrote, “The man is full of road rage.”

Commenters were amused by the cat’s post-cleanse case of zoomies, with one writing, “He’s such a good boy in the car wash and then look at him go.”

Newsweek contacted @nimbus_siberian for comment via email. We could not verify the details of the case.

Siberian cats are known for their friendly and affectionate nature, and they have a surprising affinity for water, according to Fetch Pet. Siberians seem to enjoy playing with water or even dipping their paws into it.

This behavior may be linked to their semi-wild origins in the snowy regions of Siberia, where interacting with water was a part of their natural environment.

Their thick, water-resistant fur helps them feel comfortable around water, enhancing their playful interaction with it.

The white and gray feline in the video is a testament to his water-loving heritage, as he seemed to calmly enjoy bathing in a half-full tub, with his owner pouring water over him.

After his owner gently toweled him dry, Nimbus began to exhibit “road rage,” making surprising sounds as he zoomed around his home and sprang onto his cat tree.

Siberian cats are known for their unique vocalizations, often communicating with soft chirps and trills instead of a typical meow.

They make these noises to express excitement, contentment or playfulness, according to Basepaws.com.

Instagram users were impressed by the cat’s calmness while he was bathed. One wrote, “So well behaved.”

“He’s so calm,” another added, while a commenter said, “Such a good boy.”

“The way he’s so well behaved while bathing, I can’t even dream of that with my gremlins,” a user wrote.

Others celebrated his post-bath behavior. “I live for his motor ‘rrrrrraaaaaauuuuuuuu,'” one user commented.

Another wrote, “I loved Nimbus drifting sound.”
