Who Is J.Cyrus, Doja Cat’s Rumored Boyfriend? Meet the Comedian

While Doja Cat hasn’t confirmed the rumors, the Grammy-winning rapper and singer is reportedly dating comedian and social media personality J.Cyrus.
The rumored relationship has been criticized by some fans, due to allegations that the comic, whose birth name is Jeffrey Cyrus, manipulated and emotionally abused members of his team.
“I love love. I’m possibly a serial dater. I definitely have had that in me a little bit,” Doja said in an interview for Harper’s Bazaar’s September 2023 cover story. “But right now I’m in a different place in my life, where I am very committed and very much in love in a different way than before. I think I’ve evolved. I’m learning to love myself, so the way that I love other people is very different. I don’t feel like a lost little teen. I feel like a woman who is coming into her own.”
Ahead, we break down everything you need to know about Cyrus.
He first gained a following on Vine.
Cyrus became known for the comedy content he posted on Vine, the now-defunct short-form video platform. At the eighth annual Shorty Awards, in 2016, he was a finalist in the Vine Comedian category.
He now has hundreds of thousands of followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
Cyrus moved his short-form content to TikTok, where he has over 700,000 followers as of this writing. He boasts over 160,000 followers on Instagram and 55,000 followers on YouTube.
Cyrus’s TikTok content mainly consists of skits made from the point of view of various characters.
He is a musician.
In 2017, Cyrus released his first and so far only album, an alternative hip-hop record titled Sober. He has since dropped multiple other tracks that aren’t tied to an album, including 2018’s “Slowly Falling” and 2019’s “Quick Fix.” He has over 13,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
He is eight years sober.
Cyrus marked the milestone in an Instagram post shared in May 2023.
“Learned a lot of shit I don’t think a drunk me could fathom,” he wrote in the caption. “Very appreciative for those around me who championed my health and my family that gave me something to live for when I decided to give up alcohol 8 years ago. huge thank you to my beautiful niece Ava Marie for being the face I saw when I asked myself what it was all worth. thank you all of you as well for letting me be a silly part of your feed. drink some water 🙏❤️.”
Multiple Twitch followers have accused him of abuse.
In 2019 and 2020, several female fans came forward with allegations that Cyrus had emotionally abused and manipulated them.
“There is no excuse nor justification for my actions. I was careless. I was greedy. I was ignorant. I was disrespectful. And I was completely in the wrong,” Cyrus said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “In a position of power and trust, I gave into the temptations and attention of those who looked up to me. These women are special. They are strong. And they are worth so much more than me and my ignorance. And I failed to realize that when it mattered.”
When news of Doja Cat’s romance with Cyrus emerged in 2023, she slammed the critics in a statement shared to social media.
“I DON’T GIVE A F— WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE I NEVER HAVE AND NEVER WILL GIVE A F— WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ME OR MY PERSONAL LIFE,” the rapper wrote. “GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE MISERABLE HOES HAHA!”
