You got Mossed: Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign Randy Moss’ son Thaddeus
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American tight end Thaddeus Moss, per sources. He’s the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss.
The next generation Moss recently posted on X: “Wonder what football is like in Canada?” Well, he’s about to find out. That was after he wrote but then deleted: “Oskee Wee Wee.”
The Florence, KY native started his collegiate career at North Carolina State University and eventually transferred to Louisiana State University. He caught 47 passes for 570 yards with four touchdowns from quarterback Joe Burrow while helping the Tigers win the 2019 CFP national championship.
The six-foot-two, 249-pound target went unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft. He signed with the Washington Commanders and spent one season with the team. The Cincinnati Bengals claimed him off waivers for the 2021 season and released Moss after training camp in 2022. The 25-year-old made $619,733 USD in the NFL.
Moss won a United States Football League championship with the Birmingham Stallions in 2023. He had three receptions for 38 yards and one touchdown.
His dad Randy played 14 seasons in the NFL — producing 1,000 yards in 10 of them — while making 982 receptions for 15,292 yards, averaging 15.6 per catch, with 156 touchdowns. Moss was a four-time first-team All-Pro and holds the single-season record for touchdown catches with 23.
One of the best receivers in NFL history works for ESPN as an analyst and created the famous ‘You got Mossed!’ segment. It’s worth noting he was a regular at Bengals practices and preseason games when his son was with Cincinnati. If he makes the Ticats roster, perhaps Moss would make his way to Hamilton or another CFL city to watch him play.
